- Began painting in 1956, while an artist for the Chicago Tribune for 2 years (20 yrs. old).
- My only art course was Drawing 101 at the U. of Illinois, my last semester––and at the end of the course, the head of the Fine Arts Dept. asked me to teach there. I said No.
- In the 1960s, I painted in San Francisco, Chicago, Paris (Montmartre), all over Europe and in Florida.
- Had an ad agency in Miami Beach.
- Had 2 galleries (of my own stuff) in Coconut Grove, FL, and in Dallas, TX, 1971-75.
- In 1972, I restored a Rembrandt painting damaged in a traveling exhibit.
- Began concepting ad campaigns, and designing/illustrating movie posters for major film studios in 1980. My concepts/designs are on more than 40 Video/DVD covers.
- Was in print with Arthur Kaplan (Fine Art Reproductions, NY) in 1975––I was the first artist to address the Endangered Species issue, with big cat paintings.
- I’m pretty well-known in the wildlife limited-edition print market (camouflage has been my specialty there.) Several years ago I was 3rd in sales in the country, following Carl Brenders and I think Bev DoLittle.
- Leanin’ Tree has many of my paintings on greeting cards, etc.
- SunsOut uses some of my paintings for puzzles.
- A vineyard even uses one of my paintings on a wine bottle label!
- Got a computer in 1998, taught myself Photoshop in 2 months, and my first computer illustration was for the Disney movie The Prince of Egypt. Here’s a list of posters that I did either all or a major part of (you can see some of them in the “Commercial” section of this site):
Spirit Beauty and the Beast Titan A.E Tarzan Monsters, Inc. Invisible Man The Road to El Dorado Reign of Fire Dungeons and Dragons Hercules Atlantis Titanic The Emperor’s New Groove Peter Pan The Land Before Time Sinbad Treasure Planet Balto II The Prince of Egypt Fantasia 2000 Robots Anastasia The Haunted Mansion Brother Bear Alexander The Fockers 3 Shirley Temple DVDs …and many etcs.
These include either posters, billboards, standees, Video/DVD covers, CD soundtrack covers, lobby banners, mobiles, etc.
